Beenyup WWTP 150ML Sludge Upgrade
The Beenyup Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) is the second largest wastewater treatment plant in Western Australia. The plant serves an area bounded by Butler to the north, Ellenbrook and Midland to the east, Scarborough Beach Road to south and the coast to the west. The plant serves domestic, commercial and industrial customers from Perth’s northern suburbs with an equivalent population in excess of 600,000 handling (on average) 135 megalitres per day (MLD).
The Beenyup WWTP 150 MLD Sludge Upgrade project has been implemented to upgrade the sludge treatment process. This comprises of sludge from Beenyup and imported sludge from other treatment plants, mostly Alkimos.

A new sludge building was constructed, the upgraded asset has additional equipment installed, to enable thickening of RPS prior to introduction into the process. The following equipment was added to the plant, to enable RPS thickening:
The electrical installation undertaken by Mason Electrical Engineering Contractors included electrical supply, installation and commissioning package.

Woodman Point
Blower Replacement
Replacement of 9 new high-speed turbo blowers. This includes replacement of the existing blower VSDs and modifications to the MCCs to suit.
SST Scraper and RAS Pump Installation
Supply and install cable ladder, power instrumentation, control and communications cabling and local control stations to facilitate the completion of works of the remaining 4 SST structures.
CIP for MLE Aeration Diffusers
Supply and install cable ladder, power instrumentation, control and communications cabling and local control stations to facilitate the completion of works for the CIP and MLE Aeration Diffusers.
